Healthy Double Chocolate Almond Butter Cookies Recipe. Flourless, gluten free, can be vegan! Made with flaxseed meal (or chia seeds or a “regular egg”), cocoa powder, honey (or vegan alternative like maple syrup or agave), almond butter, vanilla, baking soda, salt, and dark chocolate chips! Less than 150 calories per cookie!

These might just be my favorite healthy cookie yet.
Not only are they significantly healthier than your average cookie, they’re unbelievably delicious and easy to make.
These cookies are the perfect way to satisfy my your raging sweet tooth.

Ingredients in healthy double chocolate almond butter cookies:
- Flax egg
- Cocoa powder
- Baking soda
- Salt
- Almond butter
- Honey
- Vanilla extract
- Dark chocolate chips
- Maldon sea salt
How do i make a flax egg?
- Place 1 tablespoon golden flaxseed meal into a large bowl.
- Stir in 3 tablespoons water.
- Let sit for 15 minutes.
Can i use a chia egg or “regular” eggs?
Both options should be fine! I haven’t personally tested either, but I don’t see why this wouldn’t work.
Keep in mind with a chia egg, you do get a little texture from the chia seeds.
How to make healthy double chocolate almond butter cookies:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line 2 rimmed baking sheets with silicone baking mats.
- Make flax egg (directions above).
- To the flax egg, add in cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, almond butter, honey, and vanilla extract.
- Use your hand mixer to beat mixture together until well combined.
- Beat in dark chocolate chips.
- Use a medium sized cookie scoop to scoop dough into 18 cookie dough balls.
- Place 9 of the cookie dough balls onto each of the prepared baking sheets.
- Baking one sheet at a time, bake cookies in preheated oven for 8 minutes.
- Remove from oven and top with maldon sea salt.
- Repeat with remaining cookies.
- Cool slightly and enjoy!
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.
How do i make these dark chocolate almond butter cookies vegan?
- Replace honey with agave or maple syrup to make these cookies vegan.
- I haven’t personally tried this, but I don’t see why this wouldn’t work.
- Verify that your chocolate chips are dairy free and certified vegan!
These cookies are almost too good to be true:

- Soft
- Rich
- Chocolate-y
- Sweet, but not too sweet (especially when you get a little salty crunch from the maldon sea salt).
