This Funfetti Cake Batter Dip is made without cake mix and loaded with cream cheese, my secret ingredient, and TONS of sprinkles!
Today is an extra special post.
Because THIS is part of Sally’s – from Sally’s Baking Addiction – Virtual Baby Shower!
Today a bunch of bloggers (I’ll link to them below) and I are celebrating Sally and her sweet little baby who will be joining this world in September!
The theme for today’s baby shower?
So with that in mind, when I was brainstorming today’s recipe, I tried to think of the most sprinkle-y recipe.
And what’s more sprinkle-y than Funfetti Cake Batter Dip?!
I am seriously so excited to be celebrating Sally today. I’ve been following Sally’s blog for YEARS and I’m absolutely obsessed with every single recipe.
I’ve never made a recipe from her site that wasn’t absolutely perfect and you can just tell how much time, love, and energy she puts into her recipes, photos, posts, etc.
You can imagine my excitement, then, when I was lucky enough to meet her IRL (in real life 😉 ) this past May when Trevor, Teddy, and I went to SLC for a couple food conferences and to host one of our SMTY Food Video Workshops.
You guys. She’s even sweeter than her recipes. She’s just the happiest, pepp-iest, most genuine people I’ve ever met.
So Sally, this Funfetti Cake Batter Dip Recipe’s for YOU!
You’ll start by creaming together butter and cream cheese <— the start of ALL good recipes don’t you think? 😉
Once the butter and cream cheese mixture is nice and fluffy, you’ll beat in granulated sugar, instant vanilla pudding mix, vanilla extract, almond extract (not necessary, but I think it helps give this dip a true funfetti flavor), and a PINCH of salt to balance the sweetness.
That magical deliciousness above is absolutely amazing and I ALMOST stopped the recipe right there. But then I decided it was just a bit too thick and more frosting like, so I gently beat in an entire tub of cool whip, and the result was ultra fluffy funfetti, cake batter-y perfection.
And then you stir in a TON of sprinkles, because you can’t have Funfetti Cake Batter Dip without sprinkles!!!
This Funfetti Cake Batter Dip is perfectly sweet, oh-so fluffy, AND ultra creamy.
Serve it up with some nilla wafers and it’s a funfetti, cake batter lovers dream come true!
What’s YOUR favorite sprinkles recipe? Show Me the Yummy!
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter softened
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract optional, but delicious
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sprinkles
- 1 (8 oz) tub Cool Whip could use equal parts whipped cream instead
- Nilla Wafers for dipping
- Using your hand mixer, beat together butter and cream cheese in a large bowl.
- Once fluffy, beat in sugar, pudding mix, vanilla, almond extract, and salt.
- Once combined, slowly beat in sprinkles.
- Fold in cool whip until combined.
- Serve with 'nilla wafer cookies!
*Best served immediately (because the sprinkles don't have a chance to "bleed" into batter), but you can also cover with saran wrap and store in the fridge. Leave out at room temperature for about 15-30 minutes before serving or mixture will be too firm!
