These Cheeseburger Sliders are juicy, cheesy, and sure to be a hit at any game day party! These sandwiches are quick, easy, and very customizable.
These cheeseburger sliders have all my favorite smash burger flavors, but are way easier to make and bonus: there’s enough to feed a crowd! I am completely obsessed with these!
Ingredients
All your favorite cheeseburger flavors stuffed into fluffy, sweet, slider rolls. YUM!
Cheeseburger Filling
- Ground Beef – the base for our burger filling. Use any variety you’d like (80/20, 90/10, etc.), but we like 80/20 to prevent these sliders from becoming dry.
- Worcestershire Sauce, Soy Sauce, Fish Sauce – the seasoning trifecta for these sliders! The salty, tangy, umami flavor each of these brings in key to having super flavorful meat. I use these in all my cheeseburger or cheeseburger inspired recipes and it adds such an incredible depth of flavor.
- Spices: Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder – our very simple seasoning blend that adds an incredible amount of flavor to the beef.
- Onion – yellow onion is used in the recipe, but feel free to use white or red onion. Yellow and red onions will yield a sweeter flavor whereas white onion will have more of a “bite” to it. The onion is kept raw to provide a sharper flavor and crunchy texture.
- Dill Pickles – a classic cheeseburger topping that provide a briny, sweet flavor and subtle crunch. You can omit if you really don’t like pickles, but you’ll definitely be missing out on that amazing flavor and texture.
- Mayonnaise, Mustard, and Ketchup – provide that classic cheeseburger flavor and additional moisture to the filling.
Cheeseburger Sliders
- Hawaiian Rolls – the classic slider bread! I love the fluffy texture and sweet, buttery flavor of Hawaiian rolls but traditional slider buns can be used if preferred.
- Cheese – we stuck with the classics: classic American and cheddar, but feel free to use YOUR favorite cheeseburger cheese: havarti, pepper-jack, gouda, etc.
- Butter – melted, then spooned over the bread to add a rich, buttery flavor and slightly crispy exterior.
- Sesame Seeds – used as a garnish to make these look like your classic fast-food hamburger! Feel free to omit if you don’t have any on hand.
How to make
Cheeseburger Filling
- Cook beef, worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat, then stir in onions, pickles, mayo, mustard, and ketchup.
Cheeseburger Sliders
- Slice the group of 12 rolls in half horizontally so that you have one “slab” of tops and one “slab” of bottoms. (Do not pull the rolls apart.)
- Assemble the sandwiches: place the bottom “slab” into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, top with American cheese, filling, cheddar cheese, then the top rolls.
- Spoon melted butter evenly over the rolls, sprinkle with sesame seeds, then bake at 350 degrees F until the meat is hot and the cheese has melted.
- Cut into individual sandwiches, serve, and enjoy!
Variations
- Use a different bread. Try hamburger slider buns instead of Hawaiian rolls for a more traditional burger flavor.
- Try another cheese. Blue, gruyere, monterey-jack, whatever you’d like!
- Add bacon. Cook up some of my oven bacon until crispy, then use it to top the filling.
- Serve with additional fixin’s. Top sliders with shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, or whatever other burger toppings you enjoy!
What to serve with cheeseburger sliders
What’s more classic than burger and fries?!
- Cajun Fries with Fry Sauce
- Air Fryer Potato Wedges with Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce
- Air Fryer Tater Tots with Chipotle Ranch Dressing
- Air Fryer Frozen Fries with Truffle Aioli
- Potato Salad
- Macaroni Salad
How to store
Leftover sliders will last in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or in the freezer for 2-3 months.
To enjoy again, thaw in the fridge, if frozen, then warm in the microwave or bake wrapped in foil at 350ºF until heated through.
Can I make these ahead?
Yes! This is a great freezer friendly recipe:
- Make as directed, cool completely, slice into individual sliders, then wrap each slider in tin foil.
- Place sliders into a freezer safe ziplock baggie, then store in the freezer for 2-3 months.
- When ready to serve: thaw in the fridge overnight, preheat oven to 350 degrees F, place the desired amount of foil wrapped sliders onto a baking sheet, then bake until heated through.
