Announcing new dates for the SMTY Food Video Workshop and recapping our first two workshops in 2016!
That’s how I’m feeling after the past couple of months. Between TWO video workshops (October and November), traveling (Portland –> Seattle –> Kansas City –> Austin –> Chicago –> Toledo), Thanksgiving festivities, and “normal” blog work, it’s been quite the whirlwind.
I’m feeling tired, but I’m also feeling excited.
Excited for the holidays, excited for more traveling, and excited to announce our latest workshop! It’s going to be right here in Madison, WI again on February 10th and 11th of 2017!!! **Update: We’re excited to announce the workshop sold out in the first 48 hours!
Wahoo! That’s only a few months away! If you’re interested in attending a future workshop, be sure to sign up for our workshop updates!
In case you have no idea what I’m talking about, let me catch you up.
But first, in case you have absolutely no interest in what I’m talking about, might I suggest checking out all our holiday recipes? You better believe we’re in full swing cookie baking mode right now. 😉 Plus, a new easy, healthy dinner recipe is coming tomorrow that I KNOW you’re gonna love.
But now. Let’s talk SMTY Food Video Workshops.
Here’s a quick overview on what these workshops are all about… basically, in TWO days you’ll learn how to setup, shoot, and edit overhead fast-paced videos with our hands on workshops.
You can read more about these workshops, get pricing information, and sign up on our workshop page here.
Oh! And there’s a new thing we’ve added. Have a significant other/family member/employee that works with you? If YOU sign up, THEY can come for half the price! You can definitely create awesome videos on your own, but having a little help is always nice, right? 🙂
These food video workshops are jam packed with information and I promise you, you’ll walk away feeling so much more confident about shooting and editing your own videos, but don’t just take our word for it, here’s what some of our attendees have to say:
I’ve had some experience doing video on my own, but taking this class has left me both inspired and equipped with the tools to take my videos to the next level! I highly recommend this workshop!
It’s basically the most useful event I’ve attended, EVER!
This was the best investment I’ve made for my blog in years! I had a great time, learned more than I imagined and left feeling really excited to get started at home!
Seriously, even after doing video for over a year, I learned so much and I am really excited about how much better my videos should be now.
And the learning doesn’t just stop after two days, by signing up for the workshop, you’ll also get access to The Blog Village (our membership site that helps YOU create, grow, and monetize your own blog with video courses, community forums, and tools) for a year (a $299 value).
You might be asking yourself, but WHY do I need this workshop? Why do I need to start making videos?
Three reasons, really.
- Social Growth
- Brand Work
- $$$
#1 Social platforms, ahem, especially Facebook, are reeeeeally pushing video right now. Why? It keeps people on their site longer. That’s good for you, because your content gets pushed to more people, which gives you to chance to gain more followers and get more page views. Plus, when you embed videos on your own site people stay longer and Google likes to see people staying on your site. It shows that you have valuable content.
#2 More brands are starting to ask for videos. 60%+ of our brands request video, which leads me to my third and final reason…
#3 $$$. Because your social media channels are growing AND you’re offering a very valuable additional service, YOU get to charge more money.
If those reasons aren’t enough, I just want to tell you that we, personally, have had such an awesome experience with the last two workshops. Not only have we met some pretty incredible bloggers (hi guys!!!), we’ve worked really hard, had a LOT of food and cheese (thanks Wisconsin Cheese, Fromagination, Heritage, and The Old Fashioned for hosting the most delicious cheese tastings and dinners), and just overall had so much fun!
So what are you waiting for? We want to meet you and help you create ah-mazing videos!!!!
See you in February!
– Jennifer
PS – Can’t make the February workshop? Have no fear! We’ll be announcing more 2017 workshop dates soon, just make sure you sign up to get notified. 🙂
