Yes. I said Lucky Charms Marshmallow Treats. They’re a twist on my very favorite Rice Krispie Treats and these might be even better.

Why you’ll love these

• Four Ingredients. Butter, salt, marshmallows, and Lucky Charms. Who knew something so simple could be so magically delicious?
• 10 Minutes. Melt butter, stir in marshmallows, fold in cereal, press into bars. Done. But shhh. Nobody has to know how easy these are.
• Insanely Delicious. They’re sweet, yet salty and buttery. Crunchy, yet gooey and marshmallowy. What else is there in life?

Ingredient notes

• Butter – unsalted or salted butter is fine. I don’t recommend anything else, because you’ll loose out on that rich, buttery flavor.
• Salt – can omit, if necessary. I like the sweet/salty balance. 
• Marshmallows – I like using mini marshmallows, because they melt faster, but use whatever you have on hand (large, jumbo, anything). You may find that some brands melt better than others. 
• Lucky Charms Cereal – these are Lucky Charms Marshmallow Treats. ‘Nough said. However, feel free to use any cereal you’d like for a fun twist!

Tips

1. Use low heat. Melting the butter and marshmallows slowly while stirring constantly prevents burning. 
2. Use a rubber spatula. The marshmallow sticks less. 
3. Work quickly. Once melted, stir in the cereal quickly and gently so it doesn’t start to firm up before they’re in the pan.
4. Use cooking spray or butter. Grease your hands with cooking spray or butter before pressing the mixture into the pan. This prevents sticking.
5. Press gently. This keeps the bars light and fluffy. Pressing them down too hard will cause them to become too dense and hard.

How to store

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days or in the freezer for up to 2 months.

Ingredients

US Customary - Metric

• ▢ ½ cup unsalted butter
• ▢ ½ teaspoon salt
• ▢ 1 (16 oz) bag mini marshmallows
• ▢ 1 (11.5 oz) box Lucky Charms cereal

Instructions

• Grease a 9x13 in pan with cooking spray (or two 8x8 inch pans if you want thicker bars). Set aside.
• Melt butter over low heat in a large stockpot.
• Sprinkle in salt and mini marshmallows; stirring constantly until melted.
• Remove from heat, then gently stir in cereal being careful to not crush the cereal.
• Pour mixture into prepared pan(s) and GENTLY press into an even layer. If you press too hard, you’ll end up with hard marshmallow treats.
• Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
