These Eggnog Cinnamon Rolls are soft, fluffy, and oh-so ooey-gooey. Bonus: this holiday breakfast is extra easy thanks to canned cinnamon rolls!
Just when you thought cinnamon rolls couldn’t possibly get any better, we smother them in eggnog! Eggnog soaks into canned cinnamon rolls which adds an extra vanilla, spiced flavor and also creates a texture that is so ooey-gooey you’ll think every bite is the center!
What’s in eggnog?
Eggnog is classic holiday drink made with eggs, sugar, milk, heavy cream, vanilla, and spices. It can be enjoyed chilled, warm, and even spiked with alcohol such as rum or brandy.
Ingredients
Nobody will ever guess that this recipe is semi-homemade!
Eggnog Cinnamon Rolls
- Eggnog – our MVP! Eggnog soaks into the rolls, which makes them insanely soft and ooey. They also flavor the rolls to make them more vanilla-y with a hint of spice from the cinnamon and nutmeg flavors. I used Southern Comfort, but any store-bought (or even homemade) eggnog should work; just be sure you enjoy the taste of it, before using it!
- Butter and Brown Sugar – adding extra butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon provides more richness and a stronger cinnamon flavor. The cinnamon sugar center is the best part of a cinnamon roll, so why not add more?!
- Spices: Cinnamon, Vanilla Extract, Nutmeg, Cloves, and Salt – provides extra flavor to the rolls and enhances the the spices found in both cinnamon rolls and eggnog.
- Canned Cinnamon Rolls – the base of our rolls. You’ll need 2 (17.5 oz) cans Pillsbury Grands Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls With Cream Cheese Icing.
Eggnog Frosting
- Canned Frosting – you should have 2 cream cheese icings from the store-bought cinnamon rolls. These act as the base for our frosting.
- Powdered Sugar – bulks up and sweetens the store-bought frosting because there’s never enough!
- Spices: Cinnamon, Salt, Cloves, Nutmeg – provides extra flavor to the frosting and enhances the the spices found in eggnog.
- Eggnog – thins out the frosting to the perfect consistency while also providing additional eggnog flavor!
