Cuban Sliders are mini sandwiches layered with smoky ham, juicy pork, gooey cheese, crisp pickles, and tangy honey mustard, all pressed between sweet and fluffy Hawaiian rolls.
If you haven’t noticed by now, I absolutely love sliders. We’ve done cheeseburger sliders, chicken bacon ranch sliders, Italian sliders, pizza sliders, buffalo chicken sliders…and more! We’ve even done breakfast sliders. I mean. You just can’t go wrong with bread stuffed with yummy things like meats, cheeses, and sauces.
Why you’ll love this
- Versatile. These can be served as a game day snack, a party appetizer, a meal prepped lunch, and easy weeknight dinner.
- Flavorful. Fluffy Hawaiian bread layered with sweet honey mustard, juicy pulled pork, savory ham, and salty pickles…this might be my best slider yet!
- Freezer Friendly. Make two pans. One for now and one for the freezer. Your future self will thank me.
Ingredient notes
- Butter Sauce: Butter, Parmesan, Parsley, Basil, Garlic Powder, Salt, and Pepper – I use dried herbs for ease, but use fresh parsley, basil, and garlic, if desired. I’d use 1/2-1 tablespoon each.
- Bread – I typically use 1 (12 oz) package Hawaiian rolls for my slider recipes, but feel free to use any bread you like. Obviously Cuban bread would be more traditional. Even French, Italian, or ciabatta sliders/rolls would work.
- Honey Mustard – I love using my homemade honey mustard, but using your favorite store-bought honey mustard is a great time savings hack! You could also use plain yellow mustard for a less sweet flavor.
- Pulled Pork – you can usually find pre-made pulled pork in the deli section of the grocery store or use my homemade pulled pork instead!
- Ham – I like using a thin sliced deli ham, but this would also be a great way to use up leftover holiday ham!
- Cheese – Swiss cheese is traditional in a Cuban, but havarti, monterey jack, pepperjack, provolone, gouda, etc. would be delicious.
- Pickles – dill pickles are most traditional, but use whatever pickles you like the flavor of.
