Looking for ways to use your Thanksgiving leftovers? Look no further! Today, I’m bringing you guys the BEST Leftover Turkey Sandwich Recipe. It’s easy, you’ll already have the ingredients on hand (or at least some variation of the ingredient), and it’s just totally the bomb [dot] com. 💣
Today, we’re actually headed out of town to visit Trevor’s family and I seriously can’t wait.
First of all, I love road trips. Trevor + Teddy + me + a long drive = my heaven. Plus, if Trevor’s on board, Starbucks and Christmas music will most definitely be making an appearance. Usually, we wait until the day after Thanksgiving to turn on the Christmas tunes, but I’m thinking we’ll make an exception, because there’s snow on the ground. ❄️
I also can’t wait, of course, to see Trevor’s family. Literally. They’re the sweetest.
Lastly, I can’t wait for the food. Seriously. I.CAN’T.WAIT.
Actually, I can’t wait for the day after Thanksgiving, because let’s be real, leftover Thanksgiving food is the best. Especially when this leftover turkey sandwich recipe is involved.
Let’s break this sandwich down.
It starts with the bread. My favorite part. ♡
I used parker house rolls, but feel free to use anything you like! Leftover croissants, rolls, biscuits, sandwich bread. Whatever! It’ll all be deeelish.
Next up? The fruit-y spread. For this leftover turkey sandwich recipe, I used raspberry preserves, because raspberry flavored anything is my jam (get it? 😉 ). Feel free to use leftover cranberry sauce or whatever flavor of jam you like. Just don’t be afraid to really slather it on. The more, the better IMO.
Now. For the main event.
The TURKEY! Shred it up and mix it with some gravy and you’ve got the base for this leftover turkey sandwich recipe. Simple & yummy.
Then comes my f.a.v.o.r.i.t.e. part – after the bread I mean – the cheeeeese. More specifically, the gouda. You have, have, HAVE to use gouda. Just trust me on this one.
Last but not least? The greens. Today, we’re using arugula. It’s crisp, it’s peppery, and it really rounds out this leftover turkey sandwich recipe.
Amazing bread + fruit-y jam + moist turkey & gravy + ultra yummy gouda + fresh arugula. I mean. I just. I can’t. I neeeeeed…
Long story short? Just make it! 😉
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! May your day be full of laughter and too much food. 🙂
