Graham Cracker Toffee

Ingredients

  • 28 squares honey graham crackers 28 squares = 14 full sheets
  • 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter 3 sticks
  • 1 1/2 cups light or dark brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (12 oz) bag chocolate chips semi-sweet, dark, milk chocolate
  • Toppings of choice sprinkles, crushed pretzels, chopped M&Ms, etc. *

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease a rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray, then line it with a silicone baking mat.
  • Place crackers side by side onto prepared pan, doing your best to keep your crackers within the silicone baking mat. Set aside.
  • Place butter, brown sugar, and salt into a large saucepan.
  • Stirring regularly, bring the mixture to boil over medium/medium-high heat.
  • Once boiling, boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Pour slowly and evenly over crackers, trying your best to keep the toffee on the crackers, then bake in preheated oven for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from oven, sprinkle chocolate chips on top, let stand for 5 minutes, then use the back of a spoon to spread melted chocolate chips evenly over the crackers.
  • Top with desired toppings, cool completely in fridge (at least 2 hours) or in freezer (at least 1 hour), then break into pieces and enjoy!
  • Graham cracker toffee may be enjoyed chilled or frozen.
