Homemade BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups ketchup
  • ½ cup red wine vinegar
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce use vegan variety if necessary
  • ½ tablespoon hot sauce plus more to taste, I used and recommend Chipotle Tabasco
  • 1 ½ cups dark brown sugar light is fine as well
  • 2 tablespoons dry mustard
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons crushed dried rosemary
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons salt plus more to taste, if desired
  • 1 ½ teaspoons black pepper

Instructions

  • In a medium sized saucepan, whisk together ketchup, vinegar, water, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, sugar, dry mustard, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, crushed rosemary, ground ginger, salt, and black pepper.
  • Bring to a simmer over medium heat whisking occasionally, once simmering simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Carefully pour into a high-powered blender and blend until smooth.
  • Taste and re-season if necessary then serve as desired and enjoy!
