Meatloaf Recipe

Ingredients

Topping & Dipping Sauce

  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar packed
  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1/4 cup mustard

Meatloaf

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 large eggs lightly whisked
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

Topping & Dipping Sauce

  • Whisk brown sugar, ketchup, and mustard in a medium sized bowl. Set aside.

Meatloaf

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and grease a loaf pan with cooking spray.
  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat then add in onion, garlic, and a touch of salt and pepper.
  • Cook until tender, about 5-10 minutes.
  • Move mixture to a large mixing bowl.
  • Add in breadcrumbs, buttermilk, Worcestershire sauce, ground beef, eggs, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
  • Use your hands to mix the mixture until combined.
  • Place into greased loaf pan.
  • Spread some of the topping on the meatloaf. Don't do too much or it will slip off.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 90 minutes or until the meat is fully cooked (160ºF internal temperature.)
  • Let sit for 15 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve with remaining sauce on the side and enjoy!
