Ingredients

Cinnamon Sugar Topping

  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract

Caramel Apple Pie Dumplings

  • 1/2 cup canned apple pie filling roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup old fashioned caramel dip
  • 1 (16 oz can) refrigerated biscuits should contain 8 biscuits
  • vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans for serving

Instructions

Cinnamon Sugar Topping

  • Whisk together brown sugar, cinnamon, butter, and vanilla in a small bowl. Set aside.

Caramel Apple Pie Dumplings

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and grease a 6-slot jumbo muffin tin with cooking spray. Set aside.
  • Mix apple pie filling and caramel dip together in a small bowl.
  • Working with one biscuit at a time, flatten the dough on a clean work surface.*
  • Top with 2 tablespoons caramel apple filling.
  • Pull the sides of the dough up and over the filling and pinch the seams together.* Use your hands to shape the biscuit into a ball.
  • Place in the prepared pan, seam side down.
  • Repeat with remaining dough to fill the 5 remaining slots. Place the leftover 2 biscuits in the fridge until ready to bake.
  • Sprinkle the biscuits evenly with the cinnamon sugar topping. Be sure to reserve some for the remaining 2 biscuits.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the biscuits are cooked through. 18 minutes was perfect for me!
  • Remove from oven and cool slightly.
  • Remove from muffin tin and repeat above steps for the remaining two biscuits.
  • Serve warm with a drizzle of caramel, pecans, and ice cream or whipped cream, then devour!

Notes

*Watch the video for visuals on how to properly fill and seal the stuffed dough. It's really important to fully close the seams to keep the filling from spilling out.
