  • 2 slices Sara Lee Artesano Golden Wheat Bread
  • 2 slices American cheese
  • 2 sausage patties fully cooked and warm
  • 1-2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large egg
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Maple syrup


  • Place one slice American cheese onto one slice of bread.
  • Top with sausages and set aside.
  • Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  • Once hot, add egg and cook to your liking. Season with salt, pepper, and hot sauce, if desired. Remove and place on top of sausages.
  • Place remaining slice of cheese gently on top of egg and then gently top with remaining slice of bread.
  • Melt an additional tablespoon of butter, if necessary, into hot skillet.
  • Add sandwich and cook until the bottom is golden brown, don’t press down, or you might break the yolk.
  • Once golden, gently flip, and cook until the other side is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  • Serve with a drizzle of maple syrup!
