Slow Cooker Chex Mix

This Slow Cooker Chex Mix is so easy to make and so addicting! This homemade version of a classic snack is made up of chex cereal, Cheez-Its, and mini pretzels tossed in a tangy, salty, and slightly spicy sauce.

Ingredients

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted and cooled slightly
  • 1 (1 oz) packet ranch salad dressing and seasoning mix
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

Mix-Ins

  • 1 (12 oz) box Chex cereal (I've used rice and corn)
  • 2 cups pretzels
  • 2 cups Cheez-Its

Instructions

Sauce

  • Whisk together all sauce ingredients. Set aside.

Assembly

  • Place cereal, pretzels, and Cheez-Its into your crockpot. Mix until everything is well incorporated.
  • Pour sauce over the mix-ins and gently stir until the sauce has evenly coated the mix-ins.
  • IMPORTANT: Place a thin dish towel over your crockpot, before placing the lid on. This collects the condensation created during the cooking process.
  • Set your crockpot to LOW and cook for 2 - 2.5 hours.
  • Gently stir every 30 minutes.
  • After the 2 - 2.5 hours, pour the mixture onto a rimmed baking sheet and let cool to room temperature.
  • Serve immediately, or store in a sealed container for up to 2 weeks.*

*Although this is great the day of, I think this actually tastes best after it's had about a day to sit...the flavors really have a chance to develop!
