Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 (15 oz) can dark red kidney beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 (15 oz) can pinto beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 (28 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
  • 1 small yellow onion diced
  • 1 green bell pepper seeded and chopped
  • 1 jalapeno pepper seeded and diced (omit if you don’t like spicy, leave seeds in if you do)
  • 4 cloves garlic minced or pressed
  • 1 (12 oz) bottle beer I used an IPA
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon Stubb's Hickory Liquid Smoke
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 3 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1-2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Place beef in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook, breaking it up as you go, until it's no longer pink.
  • Drain the grease off and set aside.
  • Grease your crockpot with cooking spray.
  • Place all ingredients into your crockpot and stir to combine.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
  • Taste and season if necessary.
  • Serve with desired toppings!
