Bacon Crackers

These Bacon Crackers are the perfect combination of sweet, salty, and smoky! This easy holiday appetizer is a cinch to make and always a crowd pleaser.

Ingredients

  • 40 club crackers Ritz crackers may also be used
  • 1 pound raw bacon each slice cut into 1/4ths (regular or thick-cut may be used)*
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar packed
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper omit if you’re not a fan of spice

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees F and line a rimmed baking sheet with a silicone baking mat.
  • Place a wire cooling rack on top of the baking sheet, arrange the crackers in a single layer, then top each cracker with 1/4 slice of bacon. Set aside.
  • In a medium sized bowl, stir brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, salt, and cayenne pepper together until combined, then spoon the mixture evenly over the bacon topped crackers.
  • If using regular bacon, bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the sugar has melted and the bacon is crispy.
  • If using thick-cut bacon, bake in the preheated oven for 2 hours, or until the sugar has melted and the bacon is cooked through.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature and enjoy!

Notes

*Regular bacon will get crispier whereas thick-cut bacon will remain slightly chewy!
